Road Freight Electrification Advocacy

A Smart Freight Centre Webinar

In this webinar, Smart Freight Centre will bring together shippers, logistics actors, and climate advocates to discuss the direction of truck electrification and the need for companies to actively promote strong truck electrification regulations.

The webinar brings to light the reality of corporate influence on policymaking in Europe, the US, and globally, where policymakers do not necessarily hear what the logistics industry needs from the decarbonization policies.

Join Smart Freight Centre to learn how companies and climate advocates are making a change on the frontlines of road freight decarbonization policies and how you can be a part of it.

This session is hosted by Smart Freight Centre’s Fleet Electrification Coalition together with the Climate Group and Transport and Environment, with an invited presentation by Influence Map. InfluenceMap's Director of LobbyMap Research on Energy, Mining, and Transport, Ben Youriev, will present.

Agenda

Session highlights:

  • Urgent need for truck electrification policy advocacy: Global policy landscape and the state of climate policy lobbying;
  • Positive engagement strategies and case studies: How companies can influence policy making through coalitions, and how that has worked in the past; and
  • Behind-the-scenes of advocacy work: How individuals make policy advocacy work within their own organization.
