While other sectors rapidly decarbonize, emissions from aviation—the most carbon-intensive form of transport—continue to grow. Previous InfluenceMap research found that existing regulations for the sector set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) are inadequate. In new research out later this month, InfluenceMap will investigate industry's influence over the development of climate regulation at the organization.
In this webinar, InfluenceMap—joined by aviation industry experts—will investigate whether corporate interests have captured ICAO to undermine the development of science-aligned climate regulation for the industry. Panelists will also offer recommendations to facilitate the ambitious regulation needed to decarbonize aviation in line with the industry's global net zero by 2050 target.
This webinar is open to all, with a focus on regulators, investors, and aviation industry stakeholders seeking change in global efforts to regulate the industry’s CO2 emissions.
Attendees will understand the current state of regulation and explore potential pathways to more effectively manage the climate impact of the aviation industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask panelists questions at the end of the webinar.
