As the health harms of fossil fuels—from toxic air to climate-driven disasters—grow more severe, so does the urgency for the health community to lead with clarity, courage, and conscience. In this event, the Global Climate & Health Alliance will officially launch its Break the Fossil Influence – Fossil-Free Health Communications Campaign, a groundbreaking initiative calling on health organizations to cut ties with PR and ad agencies that work with the fossil fuel industry.
Attendees will hear from health leaders, experts on disinformation, and campaigners on the new campaign. Vivek Parekh, Fossil Fuels Program Manager at InfluenceMap, will join to discuss fossil fuel industry lobbying tactics and the role of ad and PR agencies.
