Japan Atomic Industrial Forum (JAIF) strongly supports nuclear energy together with other energy sources including fossil fuels, stated as part of their position statement in 2018 on Paris agreement and Japan's CO2 reduction commitment. JAIF also appears to support renewables to play a role in the energy mix, however, does not appear to indicate a clear timeframe to increase its proportion. In his speech at the 2019 company conference, the chairman of JAIF expressed support for the transition of the energy mix with policy focus on nuclear but not renewables.
