The ICCA's lobbying on climate regulation appears to be limited and mixed. Although they seem to support the UN Climate Treaty and energy efficiency standards, they also emphasize the importance of economic considerations in designing climate policy. ICCA President Kurt Bock also appears not to support EU action on climate change due to its perceived impact on EU chemicals industry competitiveness. The ICCA further appear to have a negative position on transition of the energy mix, advocating for continued use of fossil fuels and supporting an increased role for shale gas in the energy mix.
