Toray engages in little specific interaction with Japanese or global climate regulations outside if its trade associations. Its Chairman Sakakibara Sadayuki leads the Keidaren, Japan's most powerful business association which has consistently opposed climate regulations and a strong global treaty, arguing Japan's industry is the world most efficient.
